Haye at his heaviest

David Haye tipped the scales at 15st 8lbs at the weigh-in for his WBA heavyweight clash with Nikolai Valuev in Nuremburg.

Haye looked in supreme condition as he pulled off his shirt to reveal a toned physique, but he has bulked up for the fight as it is the Londoner’s heaviest weight for a bout - five pounds heavier than he weighed in against Monte Barrett and a pound heavier than his heavyweight debut against Tomasz Bonin in 2007.

Man-mountain Valuev weighed-in at 22st 7lbs, lighter than in previous bouts, meaning Haye is conceding almost seven stone in weight to his Russian rival.

Valuev is two stones lighter than his record weight and just five pounds shy of his lightest weight, 22st 2lbs, against Evander Holyfield.

The pair squared off for the obligatory photos and the size differential was staggering, despite Haye bulking up for the contest.

Haye’s last bout came on November 15, 2008 against Barrett and there are concerns that his inactivity may count against him, but Valuev too has not fought since his points verdict over Holyfield in December 2008.

The fight is due to get underway at 9.30pm on Saturday and you can follow all the action on Eurosport-Yahoo! with our live round-by-round text commentary.
