Kessiakoff takes shock Swiss win

Fredrik Kessiakoff of Astana was the surprise winner of the seventh stage of the Tour de Suisse time trial in Gossau.

The 32-year-old Swede outstripped local favourite Fabian Cancellara by less than two seconds on the 34.3km course.

Maxime Monfort, also of RadioShack-Nissan, finished in third.

Rui Costa of Movistar Team defended his overall lead, finishing eighth at 41 seconds down; meanwhile, Roman Kreuziger (Astana) moved up second place.

Robert Gesink (Rabobank) is now in third, with Alejandro Valverde (Movistar) fourth and Frank Schleck (RadioShack-Nissan) fifth.
