Harry Kane scored on his England debut while Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Raheem Sterling also scored in an emphatic 4-0 win over Lithuania at Wembley.
Tottenham sensation Kane scored his first goal for England 80 seconds after coming on as a substitute as Roy Hodgson’s side eased to a fifth win in five Euro 2016 qualifying games.
Wayne Rooney could have opened the scoring after just four minutes when Fabian Delph played him through on goal, but his side-footed effort hit the inside of the post before drifting out of play.
The England captain had his goal just two minutes later, however, nodding home from six yards out after Danny Welbeck's firm shot was parried away by Giedrius Arlauskis and straight into Rooney's path.
Welbeck made it two just before half-time when his deflected header trickled over the line before Raheem Sterling poked in from close range for his first international goal.
That left Kane to crown the night for the home side, replacing Rooney in the 71st minute and squeezing a header just over the line 80 seconds later from six yards out after a precise cross from Raheem Sterling.
KEY MOMENTS
4' – OFF THE POST!  Rooney is through on goal after an excellent through ball from Delph splits the Lithuania central defenders but the England captain sidefoots the ball against the inside of the post before it drifts along the line and wide.
6' – GOAL! England 1-0 Lithuania. Having hit the post, Rooney decides to score this time. It's a simple finish for the striker, nodding home from six yards out after Danny Welbeck's firm shot was parried away by Arlauskis. Walbeck showed excellent pace on the right-hand side of the area to break clear and can claim an assist there.
18' – CROSSBAR! Welbeck stretches his legs again as he bursts to the left-hand byline before looping a cross to the far post. Rooney is there, sending a header back across goal but onto the crossbar. That was an excellent effort and unlucky, really.
45' - GOAL! England 2-0 Lithuania. It's scrappy but it's a second goal for England and it will go down as one for Danny Welbeck. The Arsenal man nods Gary Cahill's low cross from the left towards goal and sees it trickle in after a big deflection.
57' - GOAL! England 3-0 Lithuania. It's a first international goal for Raheem Sterling as he runs into the heart of the area to tap home Rooney's low cross from the right. All three of England's forwards have scored tonight, proving Harry Kane is not really needed...
71' - SUBSTITUTION: Delph concedes a foul and here is the moment. Harry Kane is on for Wayne to make his England debut, replacing captain Wayne Rooney.
72’ - GOAL! England 4-0 Lithuania. Well, that was a boring 80-second wait, but Harry Kane has his first goal for England, heading home from six yards out after Sterling's precise cross from the left. He’s having a pretty good season, really.
KEY STATS
England are now unbeaten in 24 qualifying games, winning 17 and drawing seven.
Danny Welbeck is the top scorer in Euro 2016 qualifying with six goals in five games.
TALKING POINT
Can Harry Kane’s season get any better? From being on the fringe of the Tottenham side to becoming the Premier League’s top scorer, it didn’t seem like the 21-year-old’s year could get any better. That was until he scored 80 seconds into his England debut, of course.
MAN OF THE MATCH
Danny Welbeck (England): Before Harry Kane stole the show; Arsenal forward Welbeck used his power and pace to cause the Lithuania defence all sorts of problems. He can claim an assist for Wayne Rooney’s opener and, having scored the second just before half-time, he played a key role in a comfortable home win.
