In Wednesday's remaining quarter-final matches, Spurs completed a comfortable 4-0 win over Newcastle United at White Hart Lane while Liverpool progressed with a 3-1 win at Championship leaders Bournemouth aided by two goals from England player Raheem Sterling.
"It (Chelsea) will be a great match," said Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers. "We will look forward to that when the time comes...it was a wonderful peformance from us tonight.
"Eddie (Howe) has done a great job at Bournemouth. They are top of the Championship. But we created many chances. Raheem (Sterling) was outstanding this evening for a young kid.
"Bournemouth are a teriffic team, we knew we would have to defend. But my players were outstanding."
The first leg of the all-Premier League semi-final will be staged at Anfield. It is a repeat of the 2005 final that Chelsea won 3-2 in Cardiff to earn Jose Mourinho his first trophy in English football.
Premier League leaders Chelsea were 3-1 winners over Derby County on Tuesday evening with Sheffield United upsetting Southampton 1-0 at Bramall Lane, the venue where Nigel Clough's United will host the second leg of their semi-final with Tottenham.
United visited Wembley in the FA Cup semi-finals before losing 5-3 to Hull City last season. Bradford lost 5-0 to Swansea in the 2013 League Cup final.
The semi-finals are played over two legs with the first legs on the week commencing January 19, 2015 and the return matches on the week commencing January 26, 2015.
The final is due to be staged at Wembley on Sunday, March 1.
