Defoe 'not leaving Toronto'

The England international has been linked with a return to England having left Tottenham for the Major League Soccer franchise in January, with a whole hosts of clubs reported to be interested in acquiring his services.

Leicester were believed to be keen on talking to Defoe's representatives, with the 31-year-old also touted as a potential deadline-day signing for Arsenal or former club Tottenham.

But Kurtis Larson, a journalist for the Toronto Sun, has poured cold water on any suggestion Defoe will leave Toronto via Twitter, who have recently sacked manager Ryan Nelsen.
