Falcao could take pay cut and join Chelsea: Radamel Falcao could join Chelsea, according to newspaper reports. The Mirror believes that the striker desperately wants to stay in the Premier League and would love to land in London. He wants to sign with the Blues so badly that he is willing to take a huge pay cut to make the deal work. Arsenal are not interested in Falcao, while Spurs don't have the money to get the deal done, so that leaves Chelsea to make what would be a shock move for the striker.
Paper Round's view: It's not a surprise that Falcao wants to stay in England. That's where the most money is, it's the biggest stage and he is probably set on proving that he can hack it in the league after a rough season at Manchester United. Chelsea want to add strikers so they may be interested. That Falcao shares an agent with Jose Mourinho will probably help too, but he has to be okay with not making near the £265,000-per-week he has been earning.

Liverpool want Begovic: Brendan Rodgers has identified Asmir Begovic as his top goalkeeper target this summer, per The Sun. The Stoke stopper is entering the final year of his contract so he can be had on the cheap and Liverpool plan to submit a £10 million bid for the Bosnia international. The Reds may even throw Simon Mignolet in to make the deal work as they look to get an upgrade in goal.

Paper Round's view: Mignolet's continued struggles have made it all the more likely that Liverpool upgrade in goal this summer. There aren't a ton of great options out there, with most of the top goalkeepers already locked into contracts at big clubs. The Reds' options my end up being Begovic or Petr Cech, but Cech will probably go to Arsenal if he stays in the Premier League. That means Begovic is their man, and he's relatively cheap so it works out anyway.

Yaya to stay at Man City: Yaya Toure is not going to Inter Milan. “Yaya Toure will stay in Manchester City," the player's agent told The Sun. More surprisingly, the midfielder will stay at the Etihad on his current contract instead of angling for a new one. He plans to see out the remainder of his deal, which expires in two years.

Paper Round's view: It's not a coincidence that Toure's decision to stay at Man City comes not long after UEFA announced that they were relaxing Financial Fair Play rules. The Citizens don't need to get his wages off the books to make significant buys this summer and have little reason to sell him now. Meanwhile, Toure gets to continue collecting £220,000-per-week.

Stoke thrashing won't get Rodgers sacked: Liverpool will not allow the club's 6-1 thrashing at the hands of Stoke to determine Brendan Rodgers' future at the club. The Telegraph understand that the club still plan to meet with Rodgers before deciding on a path for the Reds, but that the manager's job status is not expected to be discussed. Liverpool plan to keep Rodgers, even if they want to make other changes

Paper Round's view: It would be foolish if Liverpool sacked Rodgers just because Stoke crushed them. That match didn't alter the course of the club or change how well-suited Rodgers is for the job. If Liverpool wanted to fire Rodgers because of the club's repeated failures in the transfer market and inability to put together a well-rounded team, that would be sensible, but to let 90 minutes dictate Rodgers' future would be insane.

Bielsa angling for West Ham job: Marcelo Bielsa wants the West Ham job, according to The Mirror. He went as far as turning away interest from Sampdoria and has told the Hammers that they are the club he most wants to join. West Ham are hoping to get a big name manager that can help them raise their profile a year out from their move to the Olympic Stadium and push them into the European places.

Paper Round's view: Bielsa's contract at Marseille is expiring and it doesn't look like he's going to stay at the club so he is likely to be available. He did a very good job in Ligue 1 and has been excellent at several other stops, both at the club level and internationally. The concern for West Ham would be that Bielsa is an eccentric and could cause problems in the press. He also could alienate some players. Both of those things make it a bit unlikely that he would stay at West Ham for a long time, but he would make a splash and has shown he can get teams into Europe.
