The deal, reported to be worth almost £7.5 million, follows Kapustka's impressive turn for Poland during this summer's Euro 2016 tournament, which saw him earn the man-of-the-match nod in his country's game against Northern Ireland.
It was this performance that is thought to have prompted Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri to contact Zbigniew Boniek - head of the Polish FA - to make enquiries about the 19-year-old; and in turn it was Ranieri's personal interest that influenced the decision, according to the youngster.
"Yes of all the offers tabled, Leicester wanted me the most," Kaputska told Telewizja Polska. "Ranieri's interest was a big factor for me.
"He was asking about me, he wanted me to join the team. This convinced me, but there were many factors.
I'm not going there only because of the name of the club, or because they won the Premier League. I'm optimistic and think I have a real chance of playing time.
With 11 international caps to his name, Kaputska has enjoyed a stellar rise in the last year, but he said he would not let it go to his head.
"Everything has happened very quickly," he said. "One year ago I'd just smile and wouldn't believe if someone asked me about national team.
"Then I played some games for the national team. But, I did not even dream in my wildest dreams that it would be as it has happened. I really appreciate what I have now but still feel hunger about what is before me.
"I hope I will stay on this high level and will make little or bigger steps forward."
Ranieri, currently leading Leicester on tour in LA, has yet to confirm Kapustka's claims, commenting "not yet" when asked about the move.
